A bit about Madeline - 

Madeline LaSalle Frazier was appointed by County Executive Angela Alsobrooks to represent Board of Education District 8 in April 2022.  She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Education Specialist with over 25 years of experience in mental health and education issues. Mrs. LaSalle Frazier has been a Prince George’s County resident since 2005. 

She holds a bachelor’s degree from Hunter College, a master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the Silberman School of Social Work in NYC and an Education Specialist Degree from George Washington University. Her career began as an intensive family preservation specialist in New York City. Later on, she became the Director of Social Services at the East Harlem Council of Human Services where she led a team of 30 and managed a multimillion-dollar budget.  In 2001, she relocated to the DMV area to work as Program Manager for Arlington County’s Child and Family Division where she led a multidisciplinary team of child protection social workers. In 2003, she shifted her focus to the field of education and held multiple roles in Arlington Public Schools which included Truancy Specialist, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Coordinator, Diversity Trainer, and currently works as a Coordinator at the Arlington Career Center’s Academy, an alternative program, which serves students who need a smaller environment than the comprehensive high school can offer.

In 2004, she established Latinas Leading Tomorrow (LLT) as an after-school program, which in 2012, became a Latina serving non-profit organization that provides programming for high school and middle school girls.  She currently chairs the LLT Executive Board. Among her achievements, Mrs. Frazier is a fellow of The National Hispana Leadership Institute, an alumna of the Harvard JFK School Executive Education Leadership Program and the Center for Creative Leadership. She has received multiple awards for her work within the Latino community and is an ardent advocate for equity and inclusion for all students.

She is the proud mother of one amazing young woman and the fervent mentor to many women who are doing wonderful things with their own careers. When she is not working, she enjoys time with her husband, trying new restaurants with her daughter, a good Netflix binge and playing with her two fur babies, Kibbles, and Truffles.  She daydreams of her native Puerto Rico’s beaches and loves a good Cafecito.
